About Us

The Kentucky Household Goods Carriers Association (KHGCA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing professional movers within the State of Kentucky, providing both local and long distance services. As a condition of membership in KHGCA each member agrees to observe a Code of Ethics committing to provide professional, reliable and safe services at fair and reasonable prices to the Kentucky moving public.

Kentucky Household Goods Carriers Association and this web site have been created to:

• Advance the best interests of the general public and professionals lawfully engaged in the   moving and storage business in Kentucky,
• Educate and inform members regarding transportation, storage, and small business issues
• Promote good will and cooperation among the general public and members.

Our association's mover members range in size from a one-truck family business to the national headquarters for a national van line. Our membership standards and code of ethics help distinguish our members from those movers who don't share our association's values.

Among our member services, KHGCA provides continuing education workshops, an annual convention, a bi-monthly newsletter; forms purchase programs, legislative representation, etc.

We are the voice of the moving industry in Kentucky state government; provide information and support to our members; and, encourage our members to demonstrate integrity, fairness, competence and social responsibility in their daily business transactions and community relations.

We also provide assistance to the moving public in the State of Kentucky who may have problems or issues with their moving company. We strongly support superior customer service to our customers and strive to uphold the highest level of service and ethics.

Any moving company doing intrastate or local moves within the State of Kentucky may participate in our association with an annual membership fee of $300.00.

Why an Association

This is best answered by a quote from Daniel Webster — "There are many objects of great value to man which cannot be attained by unconnected individuals, but must be attained if at all, by association."
